Sacrifice - The Road to Obscurity is the first part of trilogy, set in the central region of India and in the year 1996. A compelling story of human will for self-preservation against all odds. It brings to light the pitiable state of human rights, a biased legal system and superstitions still prevalent in our society. It brings forth the struggles, aspirations and angst of a lower-middle-class family, and how one day and a decision changes everything.
Narayan Keer is a humble lower middle-class man, whose life revolves around his family. He and his wife work hard so that their children can have a better life than they did. However, their dreams come crashing down when an influential builder decides to construct a sports complex upon their colony, and asks the residents to vacate the land.
The Keers, along with their neighbours, face the prospect of losing their home. The fear brings to the fore superstition, greed, anger and mistrust among the residents of the colony. In the grip of these emotions, they take decisions that will have far-reaching consequences.
Can a moment’s anger unleash the hidden violence in a person? Can families really be destroyed in a day? Can hope and happiness spring from tragedy?
